In what five ways is water a picture of the Holy Spirit, and how do we harness His power?

Water illustrates the Holy Spirit because both are absolute necessities for life, satisfy thirst and the soul, cleanse and sanctify, refresh and renew, and serve as sources of power. To harness this power, you must be filled by the Spirit, avoid grieving Him through sin, and avoid quenching Him through indifference toward the Word of God. Finally, you must make a volitional decision to walk in the Spirit. When we live in fellowship and obedience to the Word, our sin nature is rendered inoperable.
