What are the seven steps downward that lead to death and the seven steps that lead to recovery?
The seven steps downward are carnality, spiritual vacuum, spiritual blinding, spiritual isolation, spiritual hardening, self-betrayal, and insatiability. This progression leads from living like unbelievers to a state of bondage and greed, eventually reaching the sin unto death. Recovery requires seven corresponding steps: submission to God, resisting the devil, drawing near to God through prayer and Word study, purifying the inner and outer self, reorienting to God through godly sorrow, being humbled in the presence of the Lord, and finally being uplifted and exalted by His extravagant grace and mercy.
