What is eternal security?
Eternal security is the truth that those who believe in the Gospel are saved forever. When a believer takes a stand with regard to the Lord Jesus Christ, they stand forever. This salvation is always in the present; it is a salvation that will last forever.
This security is rooted in the fact that believers are born again from an imperishable seed of the Word of God (1 Pet. 1:22–23). Because the Word of God is unchangeable, salvation is just as eternal and absolutely secure.
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit assures a believer's eternal destiny through sealing (Eph. 1:13–14; 4:30). This seal marks the believer as God's private possession and serves as God's own guarantee of safe delivery to their ultimate destination. God is able to save forever those who believe (Heb. 7:25) and is faithful to keep them saved (2 Tim. 2:13).
