What does it mean to have the attitude, the mind, of Christ?

To have the mind, or attitude, of Christ is to keep on thinking the way Jesus Christ thought. "Have this attitude" is phroneo, "to think," a present, active imperative—a command to keep on doing it, and a choice we make for ourselves. Since the Bible is the mind of Christ, we can only learn to think as He thought through consistent study and application of the Word in dependence on the Holy Spirit; being conformed to Christ begins with thinking, because His mind is totally opposed to human perception and logic. And the content of that mind is humility: doing nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but regarding others as more important than ourselves and looking out for their interests as much as our own.
