Before we can find the undeclared will of God for our individual lives, we must obey His declared will—and there are things we know for certain He wants of us. He wills that we be saved (2 Peter 3:9), that we be sanctified (1 Thessalonians 4:3), that we be filled by means of the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18), that we be thankful (1 Thessalonians 5:18), that we be content (Philippians 4:11-13), that we suffer (1 Peter 3:17), and that we serve (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 5:15). We will never discover the unwritten will of God until we begin to obey the written will.
