To what does the writer of Hebrews compare the Christian life?
The writer of Hebrews compares the Christian life to a race, and the believer to an athlete. God has set before every one of us a race to run—a personal destiny in His plan—and no one fulfills that destiny by accident. As an athlete who wants the ecstasy of victory must first endure the agony of training, so we run our race with discipline, endurance, and a fixed focus on the goal.
