What are the three aspects of the will of God for our lives?
God's will for every believer has three dimensions: the what, the where, and the why. The operational will is the "what"—the specific task and ministry He has for us, defined by our spiritual gift. The geographical will is the "where"—the place He wants us to be, the place where He has determined to supply all our needs, just as He commanded the ravens to feed Elijah at the brook Cherith. The motivational will is the "why"—for God is concerned not only with what we do and where we do it, but with why and in whose power, since without faith it is impossible to please Him. To be in God's will is to be doing the right thing, in the right place, for the right reason.
