Ten principles of physical warfare apply directly to our spiritual war. First, objective: know why we fight and what we are to win, which is to seek and save the lost and to know Christ. Second, offensive: to attain the objective we must be constantly advancing, pressing on toward the goal. Third, concentration: massing all our energy and thought on Jesus Christ. Fourth, economy of forces: the wise use of what is available, learning to rest in faith rather than to wrestle. Fifth, mobility: being flexible, walking in newness of life, by faith, by the Spirit, in love and in light. Sixth, cooperation: functioning as a single army in the unity of the Spirit, for refusal to cooperate in wartime is treason. Seventh, security: there is one safe place only, the love of God. Eighth, surprise: when we respond to pain and trouble in faith, the enemy is caught off-guard and blasted by the power of God. Ninth, communication: staying in constant touch with headquarters through the Word and prayer every day. And tenth, pursuit: every day being in active pursuit of the enemy with a view toward total defeat.
