What does it mean to seek the lost?
'To seek' (zeteo) means to pursue with passion - to hunt someone down until you find them, to chase after with intensity. It is the same forceful word behind David's 'goodness and mercy shall follow me.' Jesus seeks the lost with exactly that passionate intensity; He is the initiator and the pursuer.
