What does the Bible teach about faith-rest and sabbaths?

Faith-rest is a life of maximum production and blessing, where we learn to love the battle by resting on God's power. It is not heaven, but spiritual maturity, available to those who believe in God's promises. The faith-rest technique involves claiming biblical promises daily until our faith grows strong. We should not fear living out our lives in a wilderness experience of test and failure, but rather fear failing to enter the faith-rest life by not taking God at His Word (Hebrews 4:1). There are eight sabbaths mentioned in the Bible, all designed to teach us to cease from our own works and rest in what God has already provided. The sabbath is a time to repose, to desist from exertion, and celebrate God's abundant provision. The eight sabbaths described in Scripture are: (1) The Sabbath of God, when on the seventh day He rested; (2) The Weekly Sabbath, a reminder to Israel that everything they had was by grace; (3) The Sabbatical Year, a bigger test of resting in His perfect provision for a whole year; (4) The Canaan Rest, life in the Promised Land—a picture of spiritual maturity and the full enjoyment of divine blessing; (5) The Year of Jubilee, coming every fiftieth year, when all debts were forgiven, all slaves set free, and all lost land restored to its owner; (6) The Moment-by-Moment Sabbath, the rest of the faith-rest life He wants us to enjoy every moment; (7) The Millennium, a sabbath of perfect environment, government, and justice; and (8) Eternity, the final and everlasting sabbath rest.
