What does he mean by “the knowledge of the Son of God”?
"The knowledge of the Son of God" is functional, experiential knowledge—epignosis. We come to know Jesus Christ not merely because we have heard or studied about Him, but because we have experienced Him: we see His power, confidence, boldness, courage, and humility at work in our own lives and in the lives of others in the local church. He is not someone absent and weak, but someone present and powerful, who lives and breathes within individuals and within the body of believers.
