What three spiritual requirements must be met before we can understand what we study in the Word?

First, we must be born again — the natural man cannot understand the things of God. Second, we must rely on the Holy Spirit — apart from Him we may gather information but not wisdom or power, which is why we confess our sins and are cleansed each time we open the Word. Third, we must approach in faith and humility — God shares His deepest secrets only with those willing to obey Him, letting the Bible be the authority where it contradicts our thoughts or desires.
