What does the Bible teach about the Age of Israel?

The Age of Israel is the time between Abraham and Christ, during which the Holy Spirit came upon certain men to reveal truth or prepare them for service. This age is characterized by a gradual revelation of God's plan, with the Old Covenant giving way to the New Covenant. The Holy Spirit was available to believers who asked, but could also be taken from them (Psalm 51:11). Key events and passages marking this period include the lives of Abraham, Moses, and the judges in the book of Judges, as well as the early Church's growth and persecution in Acts. This age closed when Israel rejected her King, Jesus Christ, leading to the establishment of the Church Age. The plan of God unfolds across four dispensations: the Age of Israel, governed by the Davidic promises; the Church Age, marked by faith in Jesus Christ; the Day of the Lord, a period of wrath and judgment; and the kingdom restored to Israel, when Christ returns to establish His Messianic reign.
