What is grace?

Grace is the means by which people receive the Gospel and are saved through faith. The stand of the believer is in grace, providing eternal security (Rom. 5:2). It is a product of God's character, as revealed in Jesus Christ, who was "full of grace and truth" (John 1:18).

God's grace is a total operation that provides all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. Through this provision, God makes us alive together with Christ (Eph. 2:4-7). He intends to display the surpassing riches of His grace and kindness toward the Church throughout all the ages to come (Eph. 2:4-7).

Grace is also the source of spiritual gifts, as the Greek word for gift, charisma, is rooted in charis, meaning "grace." Believers are called to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 3:18).
