What should motivate us to fulfill our commission?
The love of Christ — and by that Paul does not mean our love for Him, but God’s infinite love for us, poured into us by the Spirit. Paul says this love “controls” us (sunecho) — it presses on every side, constrains, and impels us. God’s love for us is the only force that can truly motivate us to reach others, and it grows as we see Christ more clearly in the Word.
