What is the role of the Holy Spirit in evangelism?

The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in evangelism as He bears witness to Christ and empowers believers to share the Gospel. According to John 15:26-27, when the Helper comes, whom Jesus will send from the Father, He will bear witness of Christ and help believers bear witness also. The Holy Spirit's ministry is described as reconciliation in 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, where Paul says that we are ambassadors of Christ, called to proclaim the message of reconciliation. As the Spirit of truth (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13), He guides believers into all truth through the study of the Word and empowers them to live the Christian life. Through the Holy Spirit's work in us, we are able to cry 'Abba, Father' to the Almighty God (Romans 8:15) and share the message of hope with others. As ambassadors of Christ, our role is to proclaim the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so effectively.
