What is the love of Christ, and how does it relate to believers in the Church Age?

The love of Christ refers to God's infinite love for us, poured into us by the Spirit. This love is not a human emotion but a divine attribute that motivates us to fulfill our commission. As Paul says, 'the love of Christ controls' us (sunecho), pressing on every side and constraining us to reach others with the Gospel. When we are filled by the Holy Spirit, we are energized with the new, resurrection life of Christ, making our sin nature inoperable and enabling us to run toward the goal. The evidence of this filling is the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. To live under the law of supreme sacrifice means becoming selfless, considering others as more important than ourselves, and humbling ourselves for the sake of manifesting Christ to our world. This passion of love is personified by Jesus Christ, who considered others as more important than Himself and became poor so that we might become rich. As we surrender to this love, we find that all we sacrifice is no sacrifice at all compared to the joy of fellowship with His sufferings.
