What is the difference between the day of the Lord and the day of Christ?
Paul draws a sharp distinction between two very different days. The day of Christ is the Rapture of the Church: it will happen in a split-second, in the twinkling of an eye, and it will be a day of blessing for all who believe, the day of completion, confirmation, and rejoicing when we stand blameless in His presence. The day of the Lord is the Tribulation: it will last seven years and will be a horrible time of wrath and judgment for those who do not believe, when Christ, who came first as the Lamb, returns as the Lion of the tribe of Judah with a sword in His hand to execute judgment.
