What does it mean that God causes all things to work together for good?
It does not mean God lets only good things happen. It means He weaves everything - the good and the bad alike - together to produce ultimate good in the life of anyone who trusts Him. Ultimate good is not always immediate good; God takes the long view, concerned less with where we are at this moment than with the character He is forming in us and with our eternal destiny.
