How does a person cleanse himself?
By confession of sin. God promises that if we confess our sins, He will always forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The formula for usefulness is simple: confess, study the Word, apply the Word. We cannot sanctify or prepare ourselves — all we can do is make ourselves available by humbly confessing our sins, and God does the rest.
