What were the Israelites required to do in order to take Jericho?
To take Jericho, the Israelites were required to do nothing but obey a set of strange orders: to march around the fortified city once a day for six days, and seven times on the seventh day. It was a test of their ability to rest and to take orders, God's way of asking whether they trusted Him and how well they could do nothing. God gave them instructions that sounded totally illogical precisely to prove whether they would rest in His power rather than their own.
