What is Paul’s solution for anxiety in Philippians 4:6–7?

Paul's solution for anxiety is to stop worrying and instead turn everything into prayer with thanksgiving. Be anxious for nothing, from merimnao, is a command to stop doing something we are habitually doing: stop being anxious. The nothing says, do not worry; the everything says, give thanks; they are two sides of the same coin. In place of anxiety we go face-to-face to God in prayer and supplication, communicating our needs and giving thanks for the situation and for the solutions He has already provided. The result is the peace of God, His own perfect peace which surpasses all comprehension, and it will guard, garrison like posted soldiers, our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
