What is the Promised Land a picture of?
The Promised Land is not a picture of heaven; it is a picture of the faith-rest life, of spiritual maturity and entrance into the full enjoyment of divine blessing. In the land there were still giants and enemies to fight, but the people were not expected to fight alone; they were to conquer by resting on God's power. It is a life of maximum production and blessing, a life of learning to love the battle.
