What is the relationship between truth, grace, and legalism?

Legalism occurs when truth is taken out of context and apart from its balanced relationship with grace. Satan uses this imbalance to his advantage, as he hates the concept of grace because it gives all glory to God. This balance is exemplified in Jesus' life, where He displayed the fullness of both grace and truth. In contrast, when believers prioritize truth over grace or vice versa, they can fall into either legalism or lawlessness. As seen in the lives of Job's friends, even well-intentioned individuals can use the Word of God to justify their own self-righteousness rather than wrapping it in grace. The Bible warns against this danger, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a balance between truth and grace in our lives.
