What is the Greek word for “church” and what does it mean?
The word is ekklesia, from ek, “out,” and kaleo, “to call” — the called-out body of the Lord Jesus Christ. The local church is our base: the place where we are trained, from which we are sent out to carry truth into Satan’s world, and to which we return to recover from the wounds of battle.
