What is “energized prayer”? How can we know that our prayers are energized?
Prayer is like a lamp: we can switch it on and off, but unless it is plugged into the power source — unless it is energized — nothing happens. James 5:16 is better translated, “the energized prayer of any believer has great power.” “Effective” is energeo, “to energize.” Our prayer is energized when we are filled by the Holy Spirit and our will is in line with God's will; then, knowing His Word and praying in step with His purpose, we let loose earthshaking power.
