To what did Jesus compare prayer in Matthew 7:7–11?
He compared it to a child asking his father for good things. If a son asks for bread, a loving father does not give him a stone; and if even evil parents know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will our Father in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him. Jesus gives three commands with three promises — ask, and it will be given; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened.
