Name ten characteristics of the essence of God and explain the meaning of each.

God is one, yet Scripture describes ten characteristics of His essence: Sovereignty — His will is above every will, so we rest in the center of it; Righteousness — perfect goodness, so His plan for us is right; Justice — perfect fairness, satisfied at the cross, so He is just to forgive; Love — an eternal, unconditional passion for our ultimate good; Eternal Life — He is timeless and works for our eternal good; Omniscience — He knows all things, so He is never surprised; Omnipotence — He is all-powerful, so He can keep every promise; Omnipresence — He is everywhere, so He is present in every circumstance; Immutability — He never changes; and Veracity — He is Truth itself and cannot lie.
