How would you explain temptation and testing to a friend? What Scriptures would you use to back your claims?

Invite your friend to talk honestly about the pressures and temptations they are facing, and listen before you speak. Then point them to 1 Corinthians 10:13, James 1:2-4, and 1 Peter 1:6-7 to show that no temptation is beyond what they can bear, that God faithfully sets a limit and provides a way through, and that He uses testing to strengthen faith, framing trials as something God allows with a view toward reward.

Also asked: How do you think God wants us to approach trials and difficulties in our lives, and what does the Bible say about them? · Can you explain why God allows us to face hard times and how He uses those moments to help us grow stronger in our faith?
Also asked, more loosely
What's the difference between being tempted and tested, and how can I understand God's perspective on these challenges?
