What is the Bible's teaching on how to discover Truth?

The Bible teaches that there are three basic methods of learning: empiricism, rationalism, and faith. Empiricism relies on sensory perception for the discovery of truth, but it is flawed because many things cannot be seen or measured. Rationalism relies on human reason, but it can never extend beyond the limits of human intelligence. Faith, on the other hand, relies on the word of someone you trust - in this case, God's inspired Word. The Apostle Paul makes it clear that God planned for man to find Him through faith alone, not through sensory perception or human intellect (1 Corinthians 1). Isaiah 55:8-11 points out how vastly superior are the thoughts and ways of God to those of men. God is omniscient and omnipresent, and He can be believed because He never lies and always keeps His Word. Only faith can please Him (Hebrews 11:6). In the biblical sense, faith is not just a feeling or a decision, but a reliance on God's Word that leads to trust and obedience.
