What is the biblical nature of the person of Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the unique union of undiminished deity and perfect, sinless humanity, welded together forever. As the second Person of the Trinity, He entered the human race to fulfill the will of the Father by offering His physical body as a sacrifice for sin. This incarnation is described in Hebrews 10:5–10, where Jesus essentially stated, “You would not accept animal sacrifice and offerings as a cleansing of sin for the human race, but a body You have prepared for Me ... I have come to do Your will.”

This divine-human nature serves as the foundation for God’s ongoing work on Earth. While the incarnation provided the necessary sacrifice for sin, God now carries on His work through the spiritual body of Christ. Because of this, believers are called to be instruments to accomplish the will of God on Earth, presenting their own physical bodies as a “living and holy” sacrifice. Just as the second Person of the Trinity made His body available for the redemption of humanity, believers are urged to make their members available to God as weapons of righteousness, recognizing that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19).
