What does the Bible teach about the sinless humanity of Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God, in whom “undiminished deity and perfect, sinless humanity were welded together forever.” This unique union was essential for the redemption of mankind, as the second Person of the Trinity entered the human race specifically to provide a sacrifice for sin. According to Hebrews 10:5–10, Jesus declared to the Father that animal sacrifices were insufficient for the cleansing of the human race, and therefore, God “prepared” a body for Him so that He could come to do the Father’s will.

This sinless humanity is evidenced by His divine nature and His interactions with fallen man. While Jesus possessed full knowledge of human failure—knowing every fraud and humiliation of men like Zaccheus—He remained entirely without sin Himself. Because He was the sinless One, He was the only qualified sacrifice to be offered for the sins of the world. By offering His physical body as a sacrifice, Christ accomplished the will of God on Earth. Now, God continues His work through the spiritual body of Christ, calling believers to present their own bodies as living sacrifices, modeled after the perfect obedience and availability of the Lord.
