What are the five stages of suffering outlined in 1 Peter?
Suffering is part of God's plan to reveal His sufficiency and refine faith. The five stages are: 1) Trial and temptation, mastering mundane aggravations and the temptation to rely on human reason; 2) Undeserved suffering, enduring injustice and slander without retaliation; 3) Suffering for the sake of righteousness, facing false accusations while remaining focused on Jesus Christ; 4) Sharing Christ's sufferings, receiving opposition while evangelizing and edifying believers; and 5) Personal satanic attack, which targets those having a personal, historical impact. Faith does not remove pain but provides the strength to bear it.
