Ask your friend where they think the power for real change comes from, then show from Jeremiah 17:5-10 the difference between the withered life that trusts in human strength and the fruitful life that trusts in the Lord, and from John 7:38 how Jesus promises rivers of living water—the Holy Spirit—to everyone who believes in Him. Let it be a conversation about a Person to depend on, not a set of rules to keep.
