What is discernment, according to the Bible?
Discernment is the ability to make wise distinctions and decisions, to judge between good and evil; the Greek diakrino means to judge between. It is a product of the balance of the Word and the Spirit in our souls. The mature have this ability not by accident but because they have trained their senses, sweating it out in the gymnasium of the soul until they can distinguish good from evil.
