What is the Garden of Gethsemane?

The Garden of Gethsemane is the place where Jesus Christ was taken and where He was betrayed by His friend, Judas.

At Gethsemane, Jesus told His disciples to sit while He went to pray. He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee with Him, expressing that His soul was deeply grieved to the point of death. He fell on His face and prayed to the Father, asking if it were possible for the cup to pass from Him, yet submitting to God's will rather than His own.

Because the disciples had been preoccupied with their own greatness and were not listening to Jesus' teachings, they fled when the Lord was taken in the Garden of Gethsemane.
