What is predestination?

Predestination is the act of God establishing a destiny for every person who would respond to Jesus Christ. This involves God setting boundaries in each person's life, including the amount of adversity and prosperity they could handle, to conform them to Christ.

On Earth, this destiny is to enter into union with Him and accomplish a particular work designed by Him (Eph. 2:10). In eternity, the predestined destiny is to have eternal life and an eternal inheritance (1 Pet. 1:3–5).

God worked all things after the counsel of His will and predestined believers according to His purpose (Eph. 1:9–11). Because God foreknew how each person would respond to Jesus Christ, He was able to set their eternal destiny before time began.
